Next Stop- First Concert and Robing Ceremony

After choir camp about a month later is our first concert of the year. This first concert is a big moment for our new members. Our symphonic choir has always worn robes that are similar to ones you would see in a church choir. It's an honor to be in Symphonic and be able to wear these robes so our way of inducting our new members is pretty significant. Before our choir performs on stage, all current members line up on the left side of the performing arts center and all new members are on the right. The removable parts of the robe (the stole) from the new members is placed on a table on stage. When their name is called, that new member and the current member robing them will walk across stage. The current member will take the stole and place it on the new member and that is called "robing". This signifies that the new member has now been formally inducted into Symphonic Choir!
